With the introduction of collaboration, we understood that a whole new level of transparency in the company was imminent, and we welcomed it. People found contexts to voice out concerns about management decisions, and we addressed them as well as we could (probably not in the best possible manner). Was wondering if this is the experience that other companies have had before us and if they have a word of advice?

Our team is quite small, so decision-making happens in the office/discussion thread we all share. We afford telling stuff like it is, and we have a rule that no one gets upset if someone else makes a mistake. We try to solve stuff together.

I guess it all depends on the strengths and weaknesses of the company culture, and collaboration helps consolidate culture.

Everybody makes mistakes. It is very helpful if people talk about it, especially if this is a startup environment and a small team.
